PAU Entomology Students win second prize in NZ Inter-Varsity Quiz
A team of three postgraduate students, namely, Nitika Saini, D Akhilandeshwari and Mridula from the Department of Entomology, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), have won laurels at the national level by securing second prize in the North Zone Inter-University Entomology Quiz Competition-2024
Ludhiana, September 23, 2024: A team of three postgraduate students, namely, Nitika Saini, D Akhilandeshwari and Mridula from the Department of Entomology, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), have won laurels at the national level by securing second prize in the North Zone Inter-University Entomology Quiz Competition-2024, organized by Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya (CSKHPKV), Palampur and Entomological Society of India, New Delhi.
A total of 12 teams from various agricultural universities of North Zone participated in this quiz competition. The preliminary round was held online on September 9 in which eight teams, viz. PAU, Ludhiana; CSKHPKV, Palampur; CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar; YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Solan; Rajasthan Agricultural Research Institute, Jaipur; Sri Karan Narendra Agriculture University, Jobner; Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Jammu; and Khalsa College, Amritsar qualified for the final round which was organized at CSKHPKV, Palampur on September 21.
Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU; Dr MIS Gill, Dean Post Graduate Studies; Dr CS Aulakh, Dean, College of Agriculture; and Dr Manmeet Brar Bhullar, Head, Department of Entomology, congratulated the students for this outstanding achievement. The department faculty also commended the team's hard work and dedication, and wished them greater success in future endeavors.
