PAU-FASC Sangrur conducted demonstrations on use of sulfur nutrient through bentonite sulfur in gobhi sarson at village Bhaini Ganduan. Technical deliberation on the importance of sulfur in growth of oilseed crops was done by FASC Sangrur Expert. 

PAU- FASC Sangrur conducted awareness camp and demonstrations on management of Sulfur deficiency in gobhi sarson at Village Bhaini Ganduan

Ludhiana, November 6, 2024: PAU-FASC Sangrur conducted demonstrations on use of sulfur nutrient through bentonite sulfur in gobhi sarson at village Bhaini Ganduan. Technical deliberation on the importance of sulfur in growth of oilseed crops was done by FASC Sangrur Expert. 

More than 30 farmers participated in the camp. They were also acquainted with the detail information on different alternatives of DAP fertilizer in wheat. Promotion and sale of wheat consortium was also done on the occasion.

Dr. Ashok Kumar, DES (Soil Science) stressed upon the ill effects of residue burning like complete loss of nutrients like nitrogen and sulphur and release of poisonous gases that are harmful for human and animal health, road accidents etc. Sowing of wheat can been done along with in-situ management of paddy straw with machines like Happy Seeder, Super Seeder, Smart seeder and low-cost surface seeder machines. Exhibition of PAU Literature, gram seed and mineral mixture, bypass fat and UMMB was displayed. The gobhi sarson field of S. Bhagwan Singh was also visited. Two Ph.D. students from PAU also attended the camp.

Bhagwan Singh, progressive farmer, Gurdeep Singh, Sarpanch of Bahin Garduan and Satgur Singh were also present on the occasion.
