More than 25 farmers participated in the camp. Technical deliberation on the different substitute of DAP fertilizer like single super phosphate (SSP), triple super phosphate (TSP), NPK (12:32:16) etc may be used after calculating their phosphorus content.
Ludhiana, November 7, 2024: Under the aegis of Director of Extension Education, PAU Ludhiana, FASC Sangrur organized village level camp on substitute for DAP and encouragement of wheat consortium at Village Bharo. More than 25 farmers participated in the camp. Technical deliberation on the different substitute of DAP fertilizer like single super phosphate (SSP), triple super phosphate (TSP), NPK (12:32:16) etc may be used after calculating their phosphorus content.
Dr. Ashok Kumar, DES (Soil Science) explained that three bags of SSP or one bag of TSP or 1.5 bags (12:32:16) supply same amount of phosphorus as one bag of DAP. In case of SSP and TSP farmers have to apply 20 kg extra urea per acre. He further stressed upon the use of wheat consortium bio-fertilizer as seed treatment. The wheat consortium bacterial cultures are enriched with N-fixing and phosphorous solubilising bacteria and plant growth promoter which enhances plant growth and solubilise phosphorous available in soil.
Farmers were encouraged for in-situ management of paddy straw with machines like Happy Seeder, Super Seeder, Smart seeder and low-cost surface seeder machines for wheat sowing. Exhibition of PAU Literature, gram seed and mineral mixture, bypass fat and UMMB was displayed.
