PAU-FASC Sangrur hosts awareness camp on potassium nitrate use in wheat cultivation at Panwan Village

Punjab Agricultural University’s Farm Advisory Service Centre (PAU-FASC), Sangrur, organized an awareness camp at village Panwan to educate farmers on effective nutrient, pest, and weed management practices in wheat crops. Conducted under the guidance of the Director of Extension Education, PAU Ludhiana, the camp aimed to disseminate advanced crop management techniques to enhance productivity and sustainability.

Ludhiana, January 22, 2025: Punjab Agricultural University’s Farm Advisory Service Centre (PAU-FASC), Sangrur, organized an awareness camp at village Panwan to educate farmers on effective nutrient, pest, and weed management practices in wheat crops. Conducted under the guidance of the Director of Extension Education, PAU Ludhiana, the camp aimed to disseminate advanced crop management techniques to enhance productivity and sustainability.

Dr. Ashok Kumar, District Extension Scientist, shared critical insights into identifying nutrient deficiency symptoms in wheat and emphasized the role of potassium nitrate in improving crop health and yield. He also addressed farmer queries related to soil sampling and the use of effective weedicides for optimal crop performance.

The camp witnessed the participation of Varinder Singh, Sarpanch, along with progressive farmers Rajinder Singh, Amarjit Singh, and others from the village, who actively engaged in discussions and shared their experiences.

An exhibition and sale of essential farming inputs, including mineral mixture, bypass fat, and UMMB (Urea Molasses Mineral Blocks), were also organized to provide farmers with access to quality products for livestock and crop management.
