PAU food engineers bag DST Project worth 39.5 lakh

Dr Sandhya, Dr Maninder Kaur and Dr Gurveer Kaur in the Department of Processing and Food Engineering, College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), have brought laurels to the University by winning the DST project entitled “Development of pilot-scale cold plasma system for microbial safety and quality enhancement in fruits and vegetables” worth Rs 39.5 lakh.

Ludhiana, July 3, 2023: Dr Sandhya, Dr Maninder Kaur and Dr Gurveer Kaur in the Department of Processing and Food Engineering, College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), have brought laurels to the University by winning the DST project entitled “Development of pilot-scale cold plasma system for microbial safety and quality enhancement in fruits and vegetables” worth Rs 39.5 lakh.

The project has been approved by the Programme Advisory Committee (PAC) of the Technology Development Program (TDP), Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India to enhance the shelf life of fruits and vegetables and their decontamination.

Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU; Dr AS Dhatt, Director of Research; Dr TS Riar, Additional Director Communication; and Dr TC Mittal, Head, Department of Processing and Food Engineering, congratulated the scientists and wished them all success in their future endeavours.
