PAU FOOD TECHNOLOGISTS WIN ACCOLADES AT INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
Ludhiana, July 18, 2023: For their exceptional accomplishments in forward-thinking and sustainable research, Dr Rajan Sharma, Teaching Assistant, Department of Food Science and Technology (FST) as well as Bhupinder Jhans, Ph.D. scholar (FST), Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), have won recognitions at the International Conference on “Current Advances in Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Allied Sciences (CAAAAS-2023),” organized by the Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria, Mabushi, Abuja, Nigeria and National Agriculture Development Cooperative Ltd, Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir, India at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra, India from July 10-11, 2023.
Dr Sharma bagged prestigious “Young Scientist Award” for significant contributions to the field of food science and technology. He further secured second prize for oral presentation entitled “Ozonation of red sorghum flour: impact on functional properties, bioactive profile molecular association and in vitro digestibility”. The research was carried out under principal investigation of Dr Savita Sharma, Head, Food Science and Technology.
Jhans bagged the second prize in poster presentation for the paper entitled “Ultrasound assisted accelerated aging of paddy: Milling characteristics, functional properties, bioactive profile and molecular interaction”. The research was carried out under the guidance of Dr Hanuman Bobade.
The PAU Vice-Chancellor Dr Satbir Singh Gosal; Dean, Postgraduate Studies Dr Pardeep Kumar Chhuneja; Dean, College of Agriculture Dr Ravinder Kaur Dhaliwal; and Head of the department Dr Savita Sharma congratulated the team for their stupendous achievements and wished them success in their future endeavours.
