Ludhiana, January 5, 2015: The Department of Farm Machinery and Power Engineering (FMPE), Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) has planned to organise a two-week hands-on-training course on “Operational and Programming of Computerised Numerically Controlled (CNC) Machines” from January 27 to February 11. The course has been designed for agricultural machinery manufactures, I.T.I pass outs and educated village youths. This course is sixth in series as earlier this type of training was organised by the department with a great success.
Dr G.S. Manes, Head, FMPE said that a total 20 participants will be short listed for this training programme. The training fee will be Rs 3000 per participant, he added. The boarding and loading will be arranged at PAU as per university norms and expenditure will be borne by trainees from their own pocket, he said. The participant will be awarded certificate after the successful completion of the training. Dr Manes highlighted that the training will be useful in enhancing the skill of the employees of the agricultural machinery manufacturers of the state. The village youths will get more employable opportunities in the production/manufacturing units. He further said that the training will be provided on CNC lathe, CNC milling, CNC drilling, EDM machine and latest manufacturing technologies.
