PAU holds a session on placement readiness for students

Ludhiana, July 7, 2023: The University Counseling and Placement Guidance Cell (UCPGC) of the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) organized a session on “Counseling and Placement Readiness” for the students of the College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology. The programme, held under the aegis of the Directorate of Students’ Welfare, PAU, wished to create awareness among the students regarding the counselling and placement activities of UCPGC, and to make them face the corporate world.

Dr Vandana Kanwar, Assistant Professor, Department of Human Development and Family Studies, discussed the issue of mental wellness, and highlighted the common sources of stress and associated remedies.

Dr Khushdeep Dharni, Associate Director, UCPGC, emphasized on being job ready by acquiring and developing the relevant skill set. He also shared important tips regarding presentation and structuring of resumes; and critical dimensions for handling job interviews.

Dr Satish Gupta, Training and Placement Officer, College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, acknowledged the importance of the session and asked the students to focus on being industry ready.

Dr Nirmal Singh Jaura, Director Students’ Welfare, advised the students to register themselves with the university placement cell so as to avail the maximum benefits from its activities.
