PAU holds fire-safety workshop

Ludhiana, Ju;y 10, 2023: A workshop on fire-safety was held in the Department of Vegetable Science, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), in collaboration with Fairdeal Services, Ludhiana.

SP Srivastav, Proprietor, Fairdeal Services, demonstrated the types of fire, different types of fire-extinguishers, safety norms and precautions to be taken in case of fire. He laid emphasis on quick response-time and need to form specially trained teams of students/employees to ensure no-delay rescue in each building in case of fire.

A practical demonstration on fire-extinguishing exercise was also held at the roof of the building, to impart hands on experience of usage of fire-extinguishers to the students, faculty and the non-teaching staff.

Dr TS Dhillon, Head, Department of Vegetable Science, appreciated the efforts of Dr Abhishek Sharma, Principal Virologist (Vegetables), PAU and experts of Fairdeals services for arranging this highly informative workshop on fire-safety. He said that such workshops will be held frequently in the future also to ensure that each and every person in the department was well aware of timely and appropriate action in case of an emergency.
