PAU hosts monthly training camp for progressive beekeeper's association members
The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) organized a monthly training camp for the PAU Progressive Beekeeper's Association (Regd.) members at the Skill Development Centre. Dr T.S. Riar, Additional Director of Communication and Programme Director, guided the camp, which saw 35 enthusiastic beekeepers participate.
Ludhiana, August 7, 2024: The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) organized a monthly training camp for the PAU Progressive Beekeeper's Association (Regd.) members at the Skill Development Centre. Dr T.S. Riar, Additional Director of Communication and Programme Director, guided the camp, which saw 35 enthusiastic beekeepers participate.
The event began with a welcome address by Jagtaar Singh, Secretary of the PBKA, who also reviewed the club's recent activities. Dr Jaspal Singh from the Department of Entomology and Dr Jaspreet Kaur from the Department of Food Science and Technology shared valuable tips on making honey products and managing honey bees during the rainy season.
In his closing remarks, Jatinder Singh Sohi, President of the PBKA, thanked all participants and contributors.
As part of the 'Green Drive' initiative, spearheaded by Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice Chancellor of PAU, 65 bee floral plants, which bloom and provide nectar and pollen to bees during the post-monsoon lean period, were distributed to the beekeepers. The apiculture unit of the Department of Entomology, PAU, Ludhiana, facilitated this distribution.
The event was coordinated by Varinder Singh from the Communication Centre.
