PAU invites applications from rural youths for crop production training course
Ludhiana, July 4, 2023: In a bid to equip the young farmers with the complete package of agriculture oriented enterprises, the Directorate of Extension Education of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) has invited applications from the rural youths of Punjab for the three-month training course on “Integrated Crop Production” scheduled to be held from August 1 to October 31, 2023. Young farmers, who are matriculate and in the age group of 20 to 40, are eligible for the course.
Sharing the information about the course, Dr Rupinder Kaur Toor, Associate Director (Skill Development), said that the main objective of the training course is to sharpen the technical skills of the young farmers in agriculture, helping them to start their own agri-based enterprises and make their income sustainable. Such courses are valuable for conservation of natural resources and livelihood security, she added. Dr Toor further informed that the interested candidates can seek the application form from Krishi Vigyan Kendras of their respective districts or Skill Development Centre of PAU, Ludhiana or apply online by going to the University website www.pau.edu. The last date for the receipt of the application form is July 25 and the interview is slated for July 28 at 10.00 am at Skill Development Centre, she said. The candidates must bring their certificates of matriculation and age proof. The selected candidates will have to deposit Rs 1,000 as security fee which will be refunded to only those who complete the training successfully. The course fee is Rs 1,000/- and the lodging charges are Rs 300/- per month, she added.
