PAU- KVK Faridkot charts Action Plan for 2025-26 during Annual SAC Meeting

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Faridkot, under the aegis of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, convened its Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) Meeting at the KVK Conference Hall. Dr. Makhan Singh Bhullar, Director of Extension Education, PAU, presided as Chairman.

Ludhiana, February 18, 2025: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Faridkot, under the aegis of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, convened its Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) Meeting at the KVK Conference Hall. Dr. Makhan Singh Bhullar, Director of Extension Education, PAU, presided as Chairman.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Bhullar stressed the need to design an action plan in response to farmers’ requirements. He encouraged KVK to promote the cultivation of vegetables, oilseeds, and pulses through training and awareness programmes, urging a more significant focus on crop diversification and sustainable practices.

Dr. Kuldeep Singh, Director of the Regional Research Station, Faridkot, emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration between KVK and the line departments of agriculture, fostering a unified approach to uplift the farming community.

Dr. Kamaldeep Singh Matharu, Deputy Director (Training), KVK Faridkot, presented the Action Taken Report for 2024 and unveiled the proposed Action Plan for 2025-26, aligning it with the emerging needs of the farming community. Each scientist presented their work under the technical programme for the year 2024, outlining key accomplishments and learnings.

Earlier, welcoming the participants, Dr. Gurdarshan Singh, Professor (Horticulture), KVK Faridkot, briefed the attendees on KVK’s mandates and ongoing extension activities.

District officials, progressive farmers, farmwomen, and representatives from allied line departments participated in the meeting, which saw over 60 participants engage in an interactive discussion on regional agricultural challenges and potential solutions.

The dignitaries also visited the KVK’s Technology Park and exhibition area, showcasing farm innovations and farm-based technologies.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Kamaldeep Singh Matharu.
