PAU Microbiology Students win Best Poster Presentation Award at ICSSR-Sponsored Conference
Samiksha and Yashika Chauhan, M.Sc. students from the Department of Microbiology, College of Basic Sciences & Humanities, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), were honoured with the Best Poster Presentation Award under the theme "Wastewater Treatment and Management" at the ICSSR-sponsored conference on "Waste to Resource: Unlocking the Potential of Treated Wastewater in Agriculture." The Department of Soil Science and the Department of Extension Education, PAU, jointly organised the conference.

Ludhiana, February 27, 2025: Samiksha and Yashika Chauhan, M.Sc. students from the Department of Microbiology, College of Basic Sciences & Humanities, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), were honoured with the Best Poster Presentation Award under the theme "Wastewater Treatment and Management" at the ICSSR-sponsored conference on "Waste to Resource: Unlocking the Potential of Treated Wastewater in Agriculture." The Department of Soil Science and the Department of Extension Education, PAU, jointly organised the conference.
Samiksha received recognition for her research paper, "Pilot Scale Wastewater Treatment Using Microalgae-Bacterial Consortium," co-authored by Dr. Shiwani Guleria Sharma, Dr. G.S. Kocher, and Dr. Sanjay Tukaram Satpute. Meanwhile, Yashika Chauhan was awarded for her paper, "Evaluation of Microalgae-Bacteria Consortium Adsorbed on Natural Adsorbent for Wastewater Treatment," co-authored by Dr. Shiwani Guleria Sharma and Dr. G.S. Kocher.
Commending their achievement, the Dean of the College of Basic Sciences & Humanities and the Head of the Department of Microbiology congratulated the students for their outstanding contributions to wastewater treatment research.
