PAU organises poster making competition on social issues
With the aim of raising awareness about social issues, a poster-making competition was organized featuring various themes, including drug addiction; Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (Save the Girl Child, Educate the Girl Child) and child labour at Government Smart High School village Gureh of Ludhiana district by the students enrolled under RAWE (Rural Agricultural Work Experience) programme of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU). About 90 school children participated in this competition.
Ludhiana, September 6, 2024: With the aim of raising awareness about social issues, a poster-making competition was organized featuring various themes, including drug addiction; Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (Save the Girl Child, Educate the Girl Child) and child labour at Government Smart High School village Gureh of Ludhiana district by the students enrolled under RAWE (Rural Agricultural Work Experience) programme of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU). About 90 school children participated in this competition.
Dr Lakhwinder Kaur delivered a lecture on the art of creating effective poster, giving key principles such as design, theme, colour contrast, letters etc. Students showed keen interest and exhibited great enthusiasm and attentiveness throughout the lecture.
Dr Kuldeep Singh, Head, Department of Extension Education, inspired and motivated the students to take an active role in organizing awareness programs. He emphasized the importance of these initiatives in fostering societal improvement and addressing social evils.
Dr CS Aulakh, Dean, College of Agriculture, appreciated the students for their exceptional efforts in organizing this event. The winners of the competition were awarded various prizes.
Manohar Singh, Headmaster of the school, proposed a vote of thanks and congratulated the winners. On this occasion, Malwinder Singh, Sarpach; Narinderpal Singh, Chairman cooperative society and Sarbjit Singh were present.
