PAU Scholar honoured with best thesis award at international conference on climate-smart agriculture
Ludhiana, November 14, 2024: Dr Poonam Abrol from the Department of Extension Education and Communication Management at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, has brought recognition to the university by winning the Best Thesis Award at the 3rd International Conference on ""Climate-Smart Nutri-Sensitive Integrated Farming System for Gender-Equitable Sustainable Agriculture: Prospects and Challenges."" The conference, organized by Pragati International Scientific Research Foundation, India, was held from November 6-8, 2024, at ICAR-CIWA, Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
The award highlights Dr Abrol's exceptional research in Extension Education. Her thesis, "Documentation of Agri-Entrepreneurs in Punjab," was guided by Dr Ritu Mittal Gupta, Senior Scientist at PAU's Department of Extension Education and Communication Management. Dr Mittal commended Dr Abrol's work, praising her innovative approach and academic rigour.
The university's top administration lauded Dr Abrol's achievement, with Vice-Chancellor Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Dr Kiran Bains, Dean and Head of the Department of Extension Education and Communication Management, College of Community Science, and Dr Manav Indra Singh Gill, Dean of Postgraduate Studies and Additional Director of Communication, Dr Tejinder Singh Riar extending their congratulations.
