PAU Scientist awarded Fellow of The National Scientific Society

The Professor and Head of the Department of Climate Change & Agricultural Meteorology, PAU, Ludhiana, Dr Pavneet Kaur Kingra, has been honoured with the title of Fellow of the Association of Agrometeorologists (FAAM) for contributions to teaching, research, and extension in the field of agricultural meteorology.

Ludhiana, February 13, 2024: The Professor and Head of the Department of Climate Change & Agricultural Meteorology, PAU, Ludhiana, Dr Pavneet Kaur Kingra, has been honoured with the title of Fellow of the Association of Agrometeorologists (FAAM) for contributions to teaching, research, and extension in the field of agricultural meteorology.

The accolade was presented to Dr Kingra during the International Conference on Climate Change and Agroecosystem: Threats, Opportunities, and Solutions (INAGMET-2024), held at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, from February 8 to 10.

Dr Kingra has an extensive publication record, comprising over 150 peer-reviewed research articles and five books in Agricultural Meteorology. Her textbooks are widely utilized by undergraduate and postgraduate students across various disciplines related to Environmental Science, Climate Change, and Agriculture.

Dr Kingra's leadership roles include her tenure as Vice-President (2016-18) and President (2020-22) of the Indian Society of Remote Sensing – Ludhiana Chapter (ISRS-LC). She has played pivotal roles in academic administration, serving as Chairperson of Academic Affairs and leading the College of Agriculture's Experiential Learning Programme. Her proactive involvement in disseminating weather forecasts and agro-advisories to the media underscores her dedication to serving the farming community.
