PAU Student Bags Best Ph.D Thesis Award
Dr Simranpreet Singh Bola, Department of Agronomy, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has been conferred with the “Best Ph.D. Thesis Award” at the ICAR-sponsored International Conference on “Current Innovations and Technological Advances in Agriculture and Allied Sciences (CITAAS-2024).”
Ludhiana, August 30, 2024: Dr Simranpreet Singh Bola, Department of Agronomy, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has been conferred with the “Best Ph.D. Thesis Award” at the ICAR-sponsored International Conference on “Current Innovations and Technological Advances in Agriculture and Allied Sciences (CITAAS-2024).”
The conference was organized by the Faculty of Agriculture, Guru Kashi University in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare (DA&FW), Horticulture Department, Government of Punjab; ISASTR, Noida and Just Agriculture Edu. Group at the Guru Kashi University, Bathinda from August 29-31. Dr Bola received the award from Dr PK Singh, Agriculture Commissioner, DA&FW, New Delhi. He has completed his Ph.D. under the guidance of Dr Harpreet Kaur Virk, Senior Agronomist (Soybean), Pulses Section, Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics, PAU. His Ph.D. research focused on "Emergence, growth, productivity and quality enhancement through seed priming and foliar application of chemicals in soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merrill]".
Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU; Dr AS Dhatt, Director of Research; and Dr Hari Ram, Head, Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics, congratulated the student and his advisor for this significant achievement.
