PAU Student bags Post-Doctoral Fellowship in US Varsity
Dr Amandeep Kaur, a Ph.D. student of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has bagged a Post-Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) in the University of Idaho, USA. During her PDF, she will be working on finemapping and cloning of dwarf bunt genes in wheat under the guidance of Professor Jianli Chen, Department of Plant Sciences, Aberdeen Research and Extension Centre, Idaho. She will get an annual fellowship of US $50,000.
Ludhiana, May 24, 2023: Dr Amandeep Kaur, a Ph.D. student of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has bagged a Post-Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) in the University of Idaho, USA. During her PDF, she will be working on finemapping and cloning of dwarf bunt genes in wheat under the guidance of Professor Jianli Chen, Department of Plant Sciences, Aberdeen Research and Extension Centre, Idaho. She will get an annual fellowship of US $50,000.
She completed her Ph.D. from School of Agricultural Biotechnology (SAB), PAU, under the guidance of Dr Satinder Kaur. For her doctoral degree, she worked on mapping of genomic regions contributing towards terminal heat stress tolerance derived from synthetic wheats. She has published her findings in high impact journals.
Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, congratulated Dr Amandeep Kaur and wished her success in all her future endeavours.
The Dean of Postgraduate Studies Dr Pardeep Kumar Chhuneja appreciated the student for bringing laurels to the University.
Dr Parveen Chhuneja, Director, SAB, told that after her Ph.D., Dr Amandeep Kaur also worked as Research Associate in a central government funded project on wheat quality improvement at SAB.
