PAU STUDENTS SENSITIZED ABOUT COUNSELING AND PLACEMENT ACTIVITIES
Ludhiana, July 14, 2023: To create awareness about the services of the University Counseling and Placement Guidance Cell (UCPGC), a session on ‘Counseling and Placement Activities’ was organized for the College of Community Science students on July 12, 2023. The session that was held under the aegis of the Directorate of Students’ Welfare, PAU, Ludhiana, was also attended by Dr Kiranjot Sidhu, Dean, College of Community Science, along with the Heads of various departments and faculty members.
The techniques for mental wellness were discussed by Dr Vandana Kanwar, Assistant Professor, Department of Human Development and Family Studies, College of Community Science. She also highlighted the familiar sources of stress and their remedies.
While appreciating the efforts of the placement cell, Dr Nirmal Singh Jaura, Director of Students’ Welfare, urged the students to register themselves with the cell to avail maximum benefits from its activities.
Dr Kiranjot Sidhu, Dean College of Community Science, encouraged the students to adapt to the dynamic demands of the industry and focus on developing the qualities which will help them get placed with good organizations.
Dr Khushdeep Dharni, Associate Director University Counseling and Placement Guidance Cell (UCPGC) emphasized the need to be industry ready. He urged the students to acquire the appropriate skill set for improving their employability. He also stressed self-employment as an alternative to achieving financial independence, especially in the context of girl students.
Dr Deepika Vig, Placement Co-coordinator College of Community Science, urged the students to avail the services provided by the Placement Cell.
Later, Mr Gurpreet Singh Virk, Welfare Officer (Boys), informed the audience regarding the activities of the UCPGC.
The session ended with a vote of thanks by Dr Sonika Sharma, Placement Co-ordinator of the College of Community Science.
