PAU trained startup ‘Sahifab’ gets 50 lakh grant
Sahifab, a promising startup incubated at Punjab Agricultural University’s Punjab Agri Business Incubator (PABI), has successfully secured Rs 50,00,000 grant under the Grant for Research and Entrepreneurship across Aspiring Innovators in Technical Textiles (GREAT) scheme.
Ludhiana, September 6, 2024: Sahifab, a promising startup incubated at Punjab Agricultural University’s Punjab Agri Business Incubator (PABI), has successfully secured Rs 50,00,000 grant under the Grant for Research and Entrepreneurship across Aspiring Innovators in Technical Textiles (GREAT) scheme. This prestigious funding has been awarded by the National Technical Textile Mission (NTTM) under the Ministry of Textiles, to support their groundbreaking project on “Development and commercialization of Industrial hemp pultrusion cord and composites.” Namrata Sahi, the founder of Sahifab, received the honor from the Ministry of Textiles on September 6 for the project that was highly praised for its potential to revolutionize the technical textiles space, particularly in the use of industrial hemp for sustainable and durable composite materials.
Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU; Dr Makhan Singh Bhullar, Director of Extension Education; Dr TS Riar, Principal Investigator of PABI, and Dr Poonam Sachdev, Co-PI of PABI, congratulated Sahifab for scaling greater heights.
Dr Gosal said, “Sahifab’s accomplishment is a direct reflection of the robust support system and environment at PABI, fostering growth and excellence for agri-based startups.”
“This is a proof of the incredible strides the incubator (PABI) is making in empowering the startups to thrive on national and global platforms,” stated Dr Riar.
Dr Sachdev, while lauding Sahifab, remarked that this was another feather in the cap of PABI which looked forward to supporting the startups in their future endeavors.
