PAU VC congratulates B.Tech students for securing top slot in TIFAN 2023

Celebrating their victory in the National Level Competition - TIFAN 2023, the COAETian Innovators, a team of 25 members of the College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology (COAET), Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), were greeted and congratulated by the Vice-Chancellor Dr Satbir Singh Gosal here today.

Ludhiana, June 14, 2023: Celebrating their victory in the National Level Competition - TIFAN 2023, the COAETian Innovators, a team of 25 members of the College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology (COAET), Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), were greeted and congratulated by the Vice-Chancellor Dr Satbir Singh Gosal here today. TIFAN (Technology Innovation Forum for Agricultural Nurturing) competition is organized by SAEIndia (Society of Automotive Engineers - India) and John Deere Limited, Pune. The PAU team comprised 25 students with third year student Karan as Captain and Professors Dr Satish Kumar Gupta, Dr Anoop Dixit and Dr Rohinish Khurana as faculty mentors/advisors.

While interacting with the student-winners, Dr Gosal congratulated the them and appreciated their team work. He emphasised on developing a sense of discipline, dedication and determination, and building their professional portfolio for having successful global career opportunities. Keeping in view the uniqueness of the machine- automated multi vegetable transplanter- designed by the PAU students for competition, he advised the winners to file the patent.

Dr HS Sidhu, Dean, COAET, informed that the team comprised B.Tech students from final year, third year as well as second year. The participation and victory of PAU agricultural engineers have ignited a spark among next batches also to participate and compete in such prestigious technical events and contests, he added.

Dr Satish Kumar Gupta, Dr Anoop Dixit and Dr Rohinish Khurana, faculty mentors/advisors of the team, shared that a total of 31 teams participated in the contest, of which 20 teams had cleared the qualifying rounds to be eligible for final round of evaluations.

Students, namely Karan, Arshdeip Singh, Nihal Asati, Harshit Prashar, Aryman Gupta, Ishan Bhardwaj, Vasudev and the rest of the team mates, expressed their deep gratitude to the PAU authorities and faculty for acting as a morale booster and mentoring them, thus enabling them to bring home the success.
