PAU wins third position in industry interface fair on agro processing
The All India Coordinated Research Project (AICRP) on Post-harvest Engineering and Technology scheme, running under the Department of Processing and Food Engineering, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has secured third position as outstanding exhibitor in institutional exhibition category among different stalls displayed by various institutions during the Industry Interface Fair on “Agro Processing.” The event was organised by the IIFA-2024 at the ICAR-Central Institute of Post-Harvest Engineering and Technology (CIPHET), Ludhiana from October 3-5.
Ludhiana, October 9, 2024: The All India Coordinated Research Project (AICRP) on Post-harvest Engineering and Technology scheme, running under the Department of Processing and Food Engineering, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has secured third position as outstanding exhibitor in institutional exhibition category among different stalls displayed by various institutions during the Industry Interface Fair on “Agro Processing.” The event was organised by the IIFA-2024 at the ICAR-Central Institute of Post-Harvest Engineering and Technology (CIPHET), Ludhiana from October 3-5.
Under the leadership of Dr MS Alam, Principal Scientist and Scheme In-charge of AICRP on PHET, PAU centre has been at the forefront of introducing and promoting the agro-processing complex concept across the Punjab state. During the CIPHET-IIFA fair, the faculty of the department whole heartedly participated and exhibited various developed innovative technologies, such as farm-level fruit and vegetable washing machine, electric-cum-battery heated wax uncapping knife, honey heating-cum-filtration machine, pilot scale pectin extraction plant, menthol crystals process, PAU protection kit for stored pulses, etc. They also guided the farmers through displayed technologies and charts. The team received an award from the chief guest Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon, Ex-Vice-Chancellor, PAU. Prior to this, the team has also been conferred with the “Best Centre Award 2023” during the 39th Annual Workshop of AICRP on Post-harvest Engineering and Technology, held in March 2024.
The PAU Vice-Chancellor Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, and the Director of Research Dr Ajmer Singh Dhatt commended the scientists for this achievement.
Dr Manjeet Singh, Dean, College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology; and Dr TC Mittal, Head, Department of Processing and Food Engineering, lauded the team’s dedication and significant contribution to the post-harvest engineering and technology research.
