Ludhiana, March 10, 2013: The Ludhiana District Congress Committee (Urban) president Pawan Dewan has said the festival of Mahashivratri gave them a message of doing maximum social service.
Addressing a gathering on the occasion of a shobha yatra taken out from Gaushala Chowk to Iqbalganj Chowk here on Sunday, he added they would take a pledge on this auspicious day to work for progress of the national and the society as well. The shobha yatra was taken out under the leadership of the Lok Kalyan Social Welfare Society president Sunil Maini.
Dewan broke open a piece of coconut to inaugurate the shobha yatra. He also spoke about the importance of the day. He said the day inspired them to selflessly work for the society. They could maintain unity and integrity o the nation only by following this principle, he pointed out.
