Pb Govt to consolidate governance reforms/best practices in a book form

Chandigarh, September 25, 2012: The Punjab Government has directed all the departments to send proposals for documentation of good governance practices, which would be further documented in a book form and be circulated to the masses for their awareness.

These best practice and innovative initiatives taken by the state government would also send to centre government so that these initiatives and best practices could be replicated in other states for improving the efficiency of the administrative system.

Disclosing this here, an official spokesman said that various departments have taken several initiatives in good governance from time to time. However, the documentation of the process of conceptualising and implementing these initiative/practices is often confined to newspaper reports and official briefs.

He said that the state government has now decided to consolidate all the best practices that have been implemented by various departments in a form of a book. He said that this booklet would further be distributed to the masses for sensitizing them about the working/policies of government machinery and for improving the delivery of basic services.

The spokesman further said that the state government would also send the information to the centre government so that other states could also replicate the best practices for better service delivery.
