PBA honours National, International and Arjuna Awardee Players in Basketball at Ludhiana 

In an impressive function late evening Sunday in Guru Nanak Stadium, Punjab Basketball Association honoured its’s sports heroes both present and past ones and also honoured were sports promoters and coaches. The function which was presided over by PBA president R S Gill DGP Punjab (Retd) in the presence of Sr. Vice President Yurinder Singh Hayer IPS (Retd.) ,VP M S Bhullar SSP , VP J P Singh  PCS (Retd),VP Gurjant Singh Brar, and VP Ashok Gupta with other  PBA executives and  executives from all the districts  of Punjab.

Ludhiana, August 21, 2023: In an impressive function late evening Sunday in Guru Nanak Stadium, Punjab Basketball Association honoured its’s sports heroes both present and past ones and also honoured were sports promoters and coaches. The function which was presided over by PBA president R S Gill DGP Punjab (Retd) in the presence of Sr. Vice President Yurinder Singh Hayer IPS (Retd.) ,VP M S Bhullar SSP , VP J P Singh  PCS (Retd),VP Gurjant Singh Brar, and VP Ashok Gupta with other  PBA executives and  executives from all the districts  of Punjab.

Those honoured included Basketball Arjuna Awardees Sajjan Singh Cheema, Ajmer Singh, Suman Sharma, Parminder Singh Bhandal (SSP) and Senior International player of yesteryears Parminder Singh (Jr) SP. International Sr. Men players who currently played Asian Games and Common Wealth Games in Indian Team trained at LBA are Amritpal Singh and Amyot Singh who also played FIBA matches. Gurbaz Singh In India’s Sr team and Sarabjit Singh Bhullar in Junior Intl. team and other players of 72nd Sr National Gold winning Team (Udipur) & Youth Nationals (Indore) Gold U-17 winning team were honoured with cash prizes . In Girls section all the players of 72nd Junior National Bronze winning team from Punjab were also honoured with cash prizes . Sports promoters honoured were Avatar Singh ASI (V.Guryie ), Bahadur Singh and Sukhpal S. Singh Grewal. Many girls players are in Indian team. 

Coaches honoured were Sr Coach Men - Rajinder Singh, Saloni (Women), Narinderpal, Sukhwinder Singh and Ravinder Gill. International Basketball Coach & Referee Amarjot Singh Maavi too was honoured. Malwinder Singh Kang, AAP party who himself is a basketball player present on the occasion was honored too. Kang assured full support from the Punjab Govt. for promotion of sports. R S Gill President & Teja Singh Dhaliwal Gen Sec requested corporate and business house to help promote the game under CSR initiative so that Punjab’ youth shine in National & International level.
