PCM SD College for Women celebrates national education day
Principal applauds students for showing their talent
Jalandhar: To commemorate the National Education Day on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Mulana Abul Kalam Azad, a renowned freedom fighter of enviable stature, an eminent educationist with a unique vision and the First Union Minister of Education, an online Declamation Contest was organized by the Department of Political Science of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar on 11th November 2020. The Declamation was based on the topics such as Education and Women Entrepreneur, Education and Women Empowerment, Right to Education and Women, the Role of Youth in Nation Building, Professional Education, Skill-based Education and Online Education in the Present Scenario. The purpose of this competition was to highlight the significance of education, especially in the lives of women and the nation’s commitment to this cause. In addition, the competition aimed at inculcating the art of public speaking in students, sharpening their communication skills and promoting exchange of fresh ideas among them. In this Competition, the talented speakers expressed their views in eloquent way and their performance was judged by Mrs Sangeeta Sharma, Mrs Tripta Handa, and Miss Sandeep Kaur. Pooja (B.A Sem. 1) stood first, Loveleen (B.A Sem. 1) and Umang (B.A Sem. 3) remained second and Divya (B.A Sem. V) bagged third position.
The Principal Dr. Mrs Kiran Arora applauded the students for showing their talent and congratulated them on their success and wished for their bright future. The Principal also appreciated the efforts of the head of the Department Mrs Tripta Handa for the overall development of the students by organizing such events.
