PCM S.D. College for Women celebrates 'Parakram Diwas' with patriotic zeal
The NCC Unit of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, celebrated Parakram Diwas with great enthusiasm to commemorate the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. The event, held under the able guidance of Captain Priya Mahajan, aimed to instill the spirit of patriotism and courage among the cadets.

Jalandhar, January 24, 2025: The NCC Unit of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, celebrated Parakram Diwas with great enthusiasm to commemorate the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. The event, held under the able guidance of Captain Priya Mahajan, aimed to instill the spirit of patriotism and courage among the cadets.
Surinder Saini, Secretary of the Jalandhar Welfare Society, was the guest of the day. Notably, Saini is the son of Freedom Fighter Captain Ajit Saini, who played a pivotal role in India's struggle for independence and was in charge of the Azad Hind Fauj radio. The event commenced with a heartfelt tribute to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, as Principal Prof. (Dr.) Pooja Prashar and Surinder Saini paid floral respects to the legendary leader. Following this, a warm floral welcome was extended to Saini by the Principal. The highlight of the celebration was a soul-stirring patriotic song performance by the cadets, which paid tribute to the valiant legacy of Netaji and ignited patriotic fervour among the audience.
Addressing the students, Surinder Saini emphasized the importance of patriotism and the values of courage and selfless service exemplified by Netaji. He encouraged the students to draw inspiration from his life and contribute to the nation's progress with unwavering dedication.
A significant part of the celebration was a cycle rally organized by the NCC cadets in the nearby areas. The rally aimed to sensitize the public and students about the ideals of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and promote awareness about his contributions to India’s freedom struggle. The cadets, carrying placards and chanting patriotic slogans, inspired the local community to honor the sacrifices of national heroes.
President Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Vinod Dada, other members of the Managing Committee, and the worthy Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Pooja Prashar, lauded the efforts of the NCC Unit in organizing such a meaningful event. The Principal emphasized the significance of remembering the sacrifices of national heroes and encouraged students to embrace the values of dedication and service to the nation. She further assured the college's commitment to nurturing a sense of responsibility and national pride among the students.
