PCM S.D. College for Women holds Mammography Camp on International Women’s Day
The Women Empowerment Cell and Rotaract Club in collaboration with Rotary Club, Jalandhar West, organized a one-day Mammography Camp at Verma Palace, Village Patara on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

Jalandhar, March 8, 2025: The Women Empowerment Cell and Rotaract Club in collaboration with Rotary Club, Jalandhar West, organized a one-day Mammography Camp at Verma Palace, Village Patara on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
The aim of this initiative was to provide accessible healthcare services to women in rural areas, focusing on breast health awareness and early detection of breast cancer.
A team of medical professionals, Dr S.P.S Grover and Dr Harleen Grover from New Ruby Hospital, Jalandhar were present to conduct mammography screenings and provide medical consultations to the attendees.
T.P.S. Bajaj, President, Tarsem Singh Bhola, Secretary were the representatives from Rotary Club, Jalandhar.
Women aged 40 and above were encouraged to undergo mammography screenings to detect any signs of breast abnormalities or cancerous growths. The screenings were conducted using state-of-the-art equipment, ensuring accurate results.
The session was conducted to raise awareness about breast health, emphasizing the importance of regular screenings and self-examinations. Information on early detection, risk factors, and treatment options for breast cancer were also provided.
Attendees had the opportunity to consult with medical professionals regarding any concerns or queries related to breast health and overall well-being. Personalized recommendations and advice were offered to promote preventive healthcare practices.
The Mammography Camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from women of all age groups in Village Patara and nearby areas.
The camp succeeded in fostering a sense of empowerment among women by equipping them with knowledge and resources to prioritize their health. It is worth mentioning that Village Patara is one among the five villages adopted under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan.
President Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Vinod Dada, other members of the managing committee and Principal Prof.(Dr.) Pooja Prashar applauded the efforts of the Coordinators, Kawaljit Kaur, Seema Tiwari and the Co- Coordinators, Aabroo Sharma, Ritu Gill and Dr Sandeep Kaur for exemplifying the collective efforts towards promoting women health and empowerment. A special gratitude was paid to the Sarpanch of the village, Sandeep Verma whose efforts led to successful culmination of the event. The initiative underscores the significance of community-driven healthcare interventions in addressing critical health issues and improving the overall well-being of women in rural areas through collaborative initiatives and community engagement.
