PCM SD College for Women holds National Integration Day
In accordance with the guidelines issued by the government of India, National Integration Day was celebrated at PCM SD College.
Jalandhar: In accordance with the guidelines issued by the government of India, National Integration Day was celebrated at PCM SD College.
The aim was to promote unity, harmony, and inclusiveness among the diverse cultures and communities that make up our great nation. Various departments of college made contribution in this vein. Department of Economics showed a powerpoint presentation to the students on the topic ‘Role of National Integration in Economic Development’. Students of NCC and Central Association formed a human chain to reinforce the notion of unity in diversity. A pledge was taken by the students to promote the idea that a country can have diverse cultures, languages, religions and traditions, yet all its citizens can coexist peacefully as one nation.
On the same day, the I-Social Club which was instituted under Government of India’s national program ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ held Group Discussion on the topic ‘Spiritual Treasures of Himachal Pradesh’. The ulterior motive of the club is to strengthen the bonds among the diverse communities of India and promote national integration. The motto reflects the essence of India as a diverse yet unified nation. A rally of NSS volunteers was also held.
President Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Vinod Dada, other members of the managing committee and Principal Prof.(Dr.)Pooja Prashar appreciated the endeavours of NCC and Central Association for holding these activities in national interest.
