PCM S.D. College for Women Hosts ‘A Golden Legacy: Roshanzh’ – A Spectacular Celebration

Jalandhar, April 6, 2025: PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, organized a grand event, ‘A Golden Legacy: Roshanzh’, celebrating the institution’s glorious journey with a mesmerizing blend of music, dance, and fashion. The evening unfolded with a series of enthralling performances that left the audience spellbound.

At the commencement of the function, the President of the Governing Body, Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice-President Vinod Dada, Naresh Markanda, Chandermohini  Markanda, T.N. Lama, Raman Budhia, Parmode Chopra, D K Joshi and Principal Dr. Pooja Prashar accorded a floral welcome. The function formally began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing wisdom and knowledge.

Principal Dr. Pooja Prashar delivered the welcome address, setting the tone for the evening with her inspiring words. Mrs. Gurjot Kaur, Senior Executive, Ajit Group of Publications, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and lauded the institution for its unwavering commitment to women’s education and holistic development.

The cultural extravaganza featured a soulful Sufi song, a breathtaking Radha-Krishna dance performance, and a power-packed orchestra that captivated the audience.

A major highlight of the evening was the grand fashion show, ‘Adviteeya-2025’, where participants displayed elegance, creativity, and confidence. The show comprised multiple rounds, each showcasing a unique theme. The Traditional Round reflected India’s rich cultural heritage, the Fusion Round blended modern and ethnic styles, and the Western Round highlighted contemporary fashion trends. A special Kids Round added charm to the evening, as young participants walked the ramp with enthusiasm.

The esteemed judges for the fashion show were Vandna Dada Kalia, Secretary of Jalandhar Gymkhana Ladies Club and Managing Director of Amalo Industry; Bhawna Jain, Owner and Designer at Syaak's Boutique and Brinda Sarees, and Executive Member of Phulkari WOJ; and Anshu Maggu, Owner of Shalimar Overseas and a Manufacturer and Exporter of Garments, Accessories, and Footwear.

A significant moment of the event was the release of a documentary encapsulating the essence of the institution’s rich legacy. Exciting games and additional dance performances added vibrancy and festive fervour to the celebration.

Alumnae and former teachers were also present, cherishing fond memories of their alma mater and witnessing its continued excellence. Principals from various schools graced the occasion, lending further prestige to the celebration.

The event concluded with the announcement of fashion show winners, the presentation of mementos, and a vote of thanks by D .K Joshi, Member,  Governing Body, marking a befitting end to a memorable evening.

President Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Vinod Dada, and other esteemed members of the Managing Committee, along with the worthy Principal Dr. Pooja Prashar, extended heartfelt appreciation to the incharges, Sunita Bhalla and Dr. Neena Mittal, for meticulously organizing this grand celebration. Special appreciation was also extended to the Department of Fashion Designing for their creative contributions and tireless efforts.
