PCM S.D. College for Women organizes Lecture on Government Policies for Youth Empowerment

Jalandhar, November 14, 2024: The NSS Department, under the My Bharat Outreach Program, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, organized an enlightening lecture aimed at educating students on key government policies that empower youth through skill development, entrepreneurship, and employment initiatives.
The session featured insightful talks from speakers who discussed various government initiatives. Mrs. Gurjit Kaur, Assistant Professor in English, delivered an engaging talk on the Start-Up India Initiative, explaining how this program supports budding entrepreneurs with tax benefits, simplified regulations, and funding opportunities. She encouraged students with innovative ideas to leverage the resources available and turn their entrepreneurial dreams into reality.
Following this, Manpreet Kaur, Assistant Professor in Fashion Designing, introduced students to the Skill India Mission (PMKVY), emphasizing its role in bridging the gap between education and employment by equipping youth with industry-relevant skills. She highlighted the numerous vocational training programs available, motivating students to participate in them to enhance their employability and career prospects.
President Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Vinod Dada, esteemed members of the Managing Committee, and the Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Pooja Prashar, commended the efforts of the NSS Department and IIC for organizing this informative session. They praised the speakers for shedding light on the various opportunities available for youth to shape their future and contribute to the nation’s progress.
