PCM S.D.College for Women holds Workshop on “Uttam Ahaar Uttam Vichar"
The Department of Science organized a workshop titled "Uttam Ahaar Uttam Vichar" to promote the importance of good nutrition for holistic well-being, including physical health, mental clarity, and emotional balance. The workshop aimed to educate participants on making healthier food choices and cultivating mindful eating habits.
Jalandhar, June 6, 2024: The Department of Science organized a workshop titled "Uttam Ahaar Uttam Vichar" to promote the importance of good nutrition for holistic well-being, including physical health, mental clarity, and emotional balance. The workshop aimed to educate participants on making healthier food choices and cultivating mindful eating habits.
Dr. Nitika Kapoor, Assistant Professor, Department of Botanical and Environmental Sciences at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, presented strategies for incorporating more fruits, vegetables, and grains into dietary meals. She delivered a presentation on "Awareness Regarding Millets." Participants had the opportunity to learn how to prepare a nutritious diet. The concept of "Uttam Ahaar" (good food) and "Uttam Vichar" (good thoughts) within communities was emphasized. Key components of Uttam Ahaar include a balanced diet, nutrient density, and hydration.
Around 40 students attended the workshop. By promoting good food and good thoughts, individuals and communities can achieve optimal health, happiness, and quality of life.
President Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Vinod Dada, other members of the managing committee, and the Principal Prof. Dr. Pooja Prashar appreciated the Department of Science for organising this workshop on Uttam Ahaar Uttam Vichar as a guiding principle for personal and societal well-being.
