PCTE group of institutes initiated green Ludhiana

Ludhiana, August 19, 2019: PCTE Group of Institutes initiated a project of Green Ludhiana where around 150 students of Hotel Management 1st, 2nd and 4th Year planted nearly 1500 saplings around the city.

The aim of the project was to make the students aware of their social responsibility towards the environment. Tamana Malhotra one of the student from BHMCT 2nd Year said that the feeling that she got after planting the seedling was amazing, she added by saying that she felt very proud that she was one amongst the others who had contributed her bit for trying to improve nature. Nikhil another student said that trees not only play an important role in the life humans but they support the lives of other creatures as well, he further added that this one step would help in making a bigger change.

Japreet Kaur Pannu, Assistant Professor, PCTE, said that the main motive of the entire project was to encourage students to understand that human activities have adversely affected the environment and it is high time that we buckle up and take initiatives and give back what we have taken from the environment.

Anirban Gupta, Dean, PCTE- IHM said that trees sequester carbon dioxide from the air, thereby reducing the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. India has experienced a substantial loss of its forest cover over the past few centuries.

Dr.KNS Kang, Director General, PCTE Group of Institutes said that Trees help the environment by providing an array of benefits and indulging students in these activities generate the sense of responsibility amongst the students towards the environment.
