PCTE Group of Institutes celebrates World Tourism Day
On the occasion of World Tourism Day, the faculty of Travel and Tourism and Hotel Management with great enthusiasm and reverence organized “The Global Trotter”, an event dedicated to spread awareness amongst youngsters about tourism.
Ludhiana, September 26, 2022: On the occasion of World Tourism Day, the faculty of Travel and Tourism and Hotel Management with great enthusiasm and reverence organized “The Global Trotter”, an event dedicated to spread awareness amongst youngsters about tourism. The students showcased the culture, food and tour plans of different parts of the world along with different states of India.
The occasion was graced by the presence of Chef Neelu Kaura, Chef Bali, Sukhkaran Gill and Ms. Elizabeth James. The tourism fest witnessed the students in full zeal and energy, ready to present the culture of different countries along with mouth-watering delicacies like Classic Buffalo Wings, Kentucky's Fried Chicken, Honey Jerk Sandwiches were among few dishes prepared to represent the United States. Antipasti, Classic Gnocchi, Tiramisu were Italy, Mezze Platter, Baklava from Dubai, Red, Green and yellow Thai Curries from Thailand, Mutton and Chicken stew with dumplings from Africa and Gratins and Macaroons from France.
Fusion dishes like Chena Pora Cheesecake, Punjabi Makhni Pesto Tetrazini, Sorse Bhapa Veg Gratin were also prepared after extensive research. Some Indian delicacies like Koraisutir (green peas) Kachouri with Aloor Dum and Kachha Kelar Kofta, Aloo Posto, Bhapa Paneer from West Bengal, Panta Bhaat Thali from Odissa, Mysore Chutney Dosa and Idli from Karnataka, Puranpoli from Maharastra, Hyderabadi biryani with Mirch ki Salan from Andhra pradesh, Sheek Kababs and Lucknow.
Anirban Gupta, Dean IHM, PCTE said that events like these help the students to gain hands-on experience. He added by saying that PCTE has always focused on bringing the best out of the students be it academically or in practical learning.
Dr. K.N.S. Kang, Director General, PCTE Group of Institutes congratulated the entire team of hotel management and tourism department on successfully organizing the event. He further added by saying that the exposure that the students get during these events help them in future prospects.
