PCTE International students showcased their culture in the Global Village

Ludhiana, March 24, 2023: PCTE Group of Institutes organized Global Village, an exhibition of the tradition and culture of the international students studying on campus. The event had students showcasing a variety of traditional clothing, informational literature, maps, flags, and artifacts  with full zeal and enthusiasm. The students from different countries including Malawi, Bhutan, Lesotho, Gambia, South Sudan, Sudan, Comoros, Liberia, Vietnam, Burundi, Zimbabwe, Tanzania etc. presented their culture under one roof.


Nokwazi, a student from the Kingdom of Eswatini said that she and her country mates displayed the traditional dresses and jewellery of their country which in their native language is called Umhelwane, Sidvwashi and Ligcebesha. Besides this, the currency was also a part of their display. Troy, a student from Zimbabwe said that the entire experience was really exciting where everyone got the opportunity to experience different cultures, and to share one’s own cultures with others.


Rupika, International Affairs Officer, PCTE Group of Institutes said that events like these provide exposure to our students to experience the tradition and culture of the international students and we further hope to host similar events in the future to continue promoting cultural exchange and understanding.


Dr. K.N.S. Kang, Director General, PCTE Group of Institutes said that PCTE has 360 International students from 46 countries studying in different courses and said events like these help us to connect more with the students and their culture and gives the opportunity to our Indian students to know about various other cultures under one roof.
