PCTE organised panel discussion on Union Budget 2021-22

Ludhiana: PCTE Group of Institutes organized Panel Discussion on Union Budget 2021-22. The event was embarked by some eminent speakers from the industry - CMA Anil Sharma, Former Chairman NIRC (ICAI) & Indirect Tax Committee - ASSOCHAM (North), Mr. Daljit Singh, CAIIB (DGM - PNB), CA (Dr.) Aman Chugh, Consultant & Trainer to Fortune 500 Companies.


The event emphasized on - the impact of global markets on the Indian economy, expectations from the budget, Infrastructure spending, Upcoming bad bank, rising fiscal deficit. CMA Anil Sharma started with budget analysis and highlighted important features of the budget. CA (Dr.) Aman Chugh brought forward the international perspective on budget analysis. He discussed the impact of the printing of currency by developed countries on the global economy in general and on the Indian economy in particular. He further elaborated on how the market responded to the budget and also mentioned the market sentiments that influenced the stock exchange indices. He then concluded by explaining the rising cross-border investments. Mr. Daljit Singh DGM PNB talked about the impact of budget on the banking sector, non-performing assets. He discussed the declining interest rate scenario and when can we expect the rebound. He also discussed that the budget is planned to give financial impetus to the economy.


Students actively took part in the discussion. They raised various queries related to disinvestments, whether the target set by the government will be achieved or not. Some of them were eager to know how the government will try to bring the budget deficit down. What are the priority sectors for the government as far as budget allocations are concerned?


Dr. Rajpreet Chhatwal, Director, PCTE- Jhande appreciated the participation of the students in the discussion. He added discussion forums like these provide a lot of exposure to the students about the working of the Indian economy.
