PCTE organises car rally for voting awareness

Ludhiana, February 1, 2017: “Shape Tomorrow. Vote Today", “Be Bright Vote for the Right”, “You’re Voice. Vote”, “Get Linked. Vote” and many more such slogans were there on 440 cars on city roads today. PCTE Group of Institutes organized a car rally through the length of the city to encourage the residents of the city and youth specially to exercise their franchise.

About 1500 students and 50 faculty members participated in the car rally. The rally was addressed by Mr. Sanjeev Sharma, SDM, West Ludhiana and flagged off from PCTE Campus – II and went across the Ferozepur Road, Ghumar Mandi, Mall Road, Model Town, pakhowal road etc., sporting catchy colorful slogans and flags.

Nishtha student of Biotechnology 1st Year said, it is important for all citizens to vote in every election to make sure that the democratic, representative system of government is maintained. Many young voters say that candidates' issue stands are the most important factor in their voting decision.

Dr. K. N. S Kang, Director General, PCTE Group of Institutes said that the initiative was taken to spread the awareness among the city residents to vote .He further added that this rally would reinforce the sentiment and hopefully the youth this time will speak out their opinion and candidate. He added by saying that voting is the essence of a democracy that doesn't mean we should stop voting on the contrary we should get out and vote more than ever before.
