PCTE Student wins Bronze in All African Badminton Championship
Ludhiana, November 8, 2021: Ludhiana: Kalombo Mulenga, an international student of PCTE Group of Institutes from Zambia has won the Bronze Medal in the Men's singles at the All African Badminton Championships, which is a tournament organized by the Badminton Confederation of Africa (BCA) to crown the best badminton players participating from different countries of the African continent representing their respective countries. The tournament was held at the MTN Arena in Kampala, Uganda, from 21st October to 28th October and Kalombo represented his country Zambia in the tournament.
Kalombo discovered badminton when he was 9 years old and till now, he has won 2 International and 7 National Level Badminton competitions and says that he trains 6 times a week 6 hours a day and his dream is to play at the Olympics and also wants to win a continental championship.
Kalombo said winning a Bronze Medal in the All African Championships was not an easy thing as the competition was very tough and required a lot of focus and concentration. But he was quite confident as he had prepared himself well for such a tournament which is why he has reaped the fruits of his hard work.
Dr. KNS Kang, Director General, PCTE Group of Institutes congratulated Kalombo Mulenga for having won the medal at such a prestigious tournament and said that it’s a proud moment for the college to have students like him in the college. PCTE has always encouraged its students to learn and actively participate in Sports-related activities to promote physical fitness, increase sportsmanship and enhance their overall personalities.
