PCTE students excel at annual cultural fest of IIT Roorkee

Ludhiana, November 6, 2018: About 40 students from different Streams of PCTE Group of Institutes participated in various events of Thomso 2018, an annual fest of IIT, Roorkee. In the Festival teams from all over India including IIT's and NIT’s participated. It is indeed a matter of pride that students with their remarkable performances left the audience and judges spell bound.

The highlights of the three day inter college cultural fest included various events like Fashion Show, Nukkad Natak, Bhangra, duet dance, Mr. And Miss Thomso, snooker pool and many more.

Students won 1st prize in Fashion Show showcasing “Scottish theme”. This is for the third time in a row that PCTE students won 1st prize in fashion show. They also won 1st prize in Footloose Classical Duet competition. Mr. Shiva, student of ATHM and Ms. Benitha, a student of Business Management won the title of Mr. & Miss Thomso 2018.

“Although I was fortunate enough to witness and experience all this, the true credit goes to our faculty members who are a source of inspiration for us” said Shiva, student of B.Sc. ATHM 3rd year.

Vikas Gawande, Asst. Prof., PCTE who also accompanied the students said that We are pleased by the performance of students. Thomso 2018 has been recognized as one of the greatest pomp youth festivals of India witnessing huge participation. The competition was really tough but our student's hard work and efforts paid them off. They practiced day & night which made their performances flawless.

Dr. K.N.S.Kang, Director General, said that, “I am immensely proud of the efforts made by the students. The hard work put in by the students have resulted in such a magnificent results. He further added that We at PCTE do believe that extracurricular activities can infuse a fresh lease of enthusiasm and motivation in students and encourage students to participate in more of such events.
