PCTE students shine at IIT Roorkee

Ludhiana, October 24, 2016: PCTE students brought laurels to the institute by participating and winning various events at annual fest of IIT Roorkee – Thomso 2016. The fest was organised from 21st to 23rd October where teams from all over India including IIT's and NITs participated. PCTE students with their remarkable performance grabbed 1st position in Nukkad Natak leaving the audience and Judges spell bound. Sarabjit, student of B.Pharmacy won the title of Best Actor.
PCTE also bagged 1st position in Bhangra competition. Adding on to the achievements, Jashanjot of MBA won Snooker Eite with Gold Medal and cash prize of Rs. 3000. Abhinav from B.Pharma won 2nd position in JAM competition. “Although I was fortunate enough to witness and experience all this, the true credit goes to our faculty members who are a source of inspiration for us and gave us the opportunity to represent our college” said Ali Nahil, student from Maldives (ATHM 2nd year).
Kawinder Kalsi, Asst. Prof. , PCTE who accompained the students at the fest said “We are pleased by the performance of students. Thomso 2016 is recognised as one of the greatest pomp youth festivals of India witnessing huge participation. The competition was really tough but our student's hard work and efforts paid them off. They practicsed day & night which made their performances flawless.
Dr. K.N.S.Kang, Director General, PCTE Group of Institutes congratulated the winners and said that such type of events not only help the students in developing confidence to perform and show case their talent, but also help in developing team spirit and leadership qualities. He added it isn’t about wining or losing, it’s about participating and cherishing these everlasting memories.
