PCTE student’s start-up gets registered at Start Up India under DPIIT
The start-up “Nappads” of Aditi, an MBA student of PCTE Group of Institutes of Batch 2019-21 gets registered at Start Up India under DPIIT.
Ludhiana, April 12, 2022: The start-up “Nappads” of Aditi, an MBA student of PCTE Group of Institutes of Batch 2019-21 gets registered at Start Up India under DPIIT and receives a grant-in-aid of Rs 5 Lakh by RKVY-RAFTAAR, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare.
The idea of starting Nappads began during the 3 days’ workshop on idea generation and startup formation workshop initiated by the entrepreneurship cell at PCTE which encourages all the students to think out of the box. Aditi said this is how she thought of making sanitary napkins from banana leaves. The idea became a hit and also got to the grand finale round in a nationwide competition “Smart India Hackathon 2020” organized by the Institution's Innovation Council and MHRD’s Innovation Cell, AICTE, New Delhi and won INR 50000/- as joint winner. She further expressed her gratitude to the mentors for providing a platform to start a business.
Prof. Naresh Sachdev, Dean, Corporate Relations, PCTE Group of Institutes, has been helping the students on regular basis and is also the in charge of the Entrepreneurial Cell said that the motive of e-cell is to guide the students and provide them necessary information and support to start a business. The e-cell on a regular basis organises workshops and encourages the students to participate in nationwide competitions.
Dr. KNS Kang, Director General, PCTE Group of Institutes congratulated and said that PCTE has always provided ample opportunities for the students and the youngsters who wish to start their own business are guided throughout their journey.
