PCTEians Showcase Speed and Strength at the Annual Athletics Meet 2025

Ludhiana, March 5, 2025: The PCTE Group of Institutes is delighted to announce the grand success of its highly anticipated Annual Athletics Meet 2025. The event brought together students and faculty members from a range of departments and courses, offering a thrilling day of athletic competition that highlighted the unyielding spirit of PCTEians.

The festivities began with a captivating March Past, a colorful display of unity and college pride, as each department, dressed in sportswear , marched proudly, holding flags that represented their classes. The Oath-Taking Ceremony emphasized the importance of fair play and healthy competition, values that guided the entire event. To elevate the occasion, Mr. Swapan Chanana, Director Student Welfare graced the event, adding a touch of grandeur and prestige. The campus was transformed into a lively carnival, featuring stalls with delicious food, fun games, and a variety of merchandise. Various departments showcased their creativity and entrepreneurial spirit, adding an extra layer of excitement for all attendees.

  The event kicked off with the Junior Wings Boys competition, where 39 students had registered, and 3 students advanced to the semi-finals. This was followed by the Long Jump Heats and Shot Put competitions. 

The track events were a thrilling spectacle, featuring exhilarating races such as the 1200 -meter race ,  800-meter race  and the 4X400-meter relay. These events demonstrated outstanding speed and determination. The 400-meter race and 4X100-meter relay for girls captivated the audience with displays of agility and grit. Meanwhile, the Shot Put and Long Jump finals showcased the boys’ strength and agility, while the girls impressed with their remarkable jumping skills and precision.

  In addition to the athletic events, students contributed to the atmosphere by singing songs, which helped make the sports day even more memorable. The weather was quite windy, but that didn’t dampen anyone's spirit.   

The event reached its peak with the much-anticipated Faculty Race, where the dedicated teachers of PCTE showcased their athletic skills, bringing joy and laughter to the students.

The Prize Distribution Ceremony was a moment of celebration, recognizing the exceptional athletes who had made the Annual Athletics Meet 2025 a resounding success. Among the winners were Harsh Sharma (B.tech CSE 2023 A)  from the Junior Wing in 400 Metres race  and a student from ( B.Tech CSE 2022 C ) from the Senior Wing, who emerged as the overall champions.  Sameul MLS 3rd Year was awarded the Best Athlete Male and Karine Ropi Joseph B.tech Civil Engineering 3rd year was recognized as the Best Athlete Female.

The entire event was a testament to the remarkable talents, sportsmanship, and determination of the PCTE community.
