Ludhiana: The Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) on Tuesday organized an awareness camp on the setting up of biogas plant in Chhandra village of the district.
PEDA's Joint Director Suresh Goyal detailed the villagers about biogas plant and functioning how it converts animal waste into the fuel, can be used various purposes. He asked the people to use maximum this renewable energy source in daily routine life which will not only save the environment but would also protect humans from diseases and money.
He added that the capacity of the plant ranges from 1 to 6 cubic meter and the cost of installing a biogas plant ranges from Rs 28,000 to Rs 40,000 according to capacity. He said that the government also provides a subsidy of Rs 7500 to 12000 and anyone interested can ring on 94174-94900 for additional information.
