Chandigarh, August 31, 2024: An empowering workshop on Personality Development and Menstrual Hygiene was successfully conducted at Government Home Science College, Chandigarh recently. 

The workshop aimed to empower students with essential life skills and knowledge, fostering both personal and professional growth. The Workshop was organized in collaboration with Proctor and Gamble and Right Side Story as the training partner. More than 150 students of Bsc, Msc and Diploma enthusiastically participated in the event. The session was led by Ms. Aditi, Counseling Psychologist, Right Side Story, who delivered an engaging and insightful presentation. 

Aditi sensitized students on the importance of self-empowerment, encouraging them to "Be their own boss." She discussed strategies for building confidence, effective communication, and leadership skills, all of which are crucial for personality development. In addition to personality development aspects, the workshop also covered the critical topic of menstrual hygiene, emphasizing the importance of breaking taboos and promoting health and well-being among young women. Students were given Goodies including Whisper sanitary pads and razor kits sponsered by Proctor and Gamble, in the concluding session of workshop. All participants were also awarded with certificates on successful registration for the workshop. The interactive nature of the workshop allowed students to actively participate, ask questions, and share their own experiences. The session was well-received, with many students expressing their appreciation for the practical advice and motivational insights provided by Aditi. 


Prof. Sudha Katyal, Principal of Government Home Science College, applauded the efforts of the IEP Cell for organising such a meaningful event. She commended the participation of the students and emphasized the importance of such workshops in equipping young women with the tools they need to succeed both personally and professionally. Prof. Katyal further encouraged the continuation of such initiatives, highlighting their role in fostering a supportive and empowering environment within the college.
