Ludhiana, March 2, 2013: Leaders and members of Ludhiana district unit of BJYM staged a protest near Clock Tower here on Saturday, against recent hike in the prices of petrol by the Centre.

They burnt an effigy of the Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh as a mark of protest. The protest was led by the party’s district president Kantendu Sharma.

Protestors also shouted slogans against the Centre and the Congress party as well.

Leaders regretted that people were already harassed a lot due to the steep inflation and on the other hand the Centre had been making rise in the prices of petrol frequently.

They alleged that the UPA-led government at the Centre had been following “anti-people’ policies.

They said people would show the exit door to the Congress in the coming parliament elections.
