Phenomenal Performance by Cambridge Players in Sahodya Chess Tournament (2017-18)

This has been proved by the students of Cambridge International School, Jalandhar who exhibited their capability to calculate long sequences of moves and technical maneuvers by grabbing positions in the ‘Game of Intellectuals’ i.e. Chess. In Sahodya Chess Tournament (2017-18) held at La Bloosom School, Jalandhar on January 29,2018, the school Chess team performed in an amazing manner and became Overall Champions.
Their caliber to evaluate the chess positions, setting up of goals and long term plans for a win enabled boys (Under 19) to grab the First Position. The young achievers are:- Dushyant Sharma, Pankaj Arora, Namitbir Singh and Jayan Pasricha.
Girls (Under 19) also kept the tradition alive by achieving the First position. The winners are:- Yastika Handa, Anahita Verma, Dhanishka Jain and Tushita Chopra.
Under the able guidance of their coach, a lot of effort had been put in by the students to achieve this remarkable feat. This outstanding achievement made them stand out and earn praise from everybody.
On this occasion, Chairman LWES Mr Ajay Bhatia, Vice Chairman LWES Mr Nitin Kohli, President LWES Mr Deepak Bhatia, Members of School Management Ms Mona Bhatia and Ms Pooja Bhatia, Senior Executive Director LWES Mr J.K Kohli, CEO LWES Dr Brijesh, Chief Academic Officer LWES Ms Deepa Dogra, Members of Secretariat LWES Ms Geeta Mahajan, Ms Meenu Huria, Ms Smita Verma and Principal Ms Kiranjoth Dhillon, Sports Coordinator Learning Wings Mr. A.S Sikand, Deputy Sports Coordinator Learning Wings Ms. Harpreet Sagoo and Mr. Anurag Bhardwaj appreciated the players for such whole- hearted involvement in the game . They advised them to keep putting in so much efforts regularly so that they can outshine others in all the events to come. They also congratulated the winners for bringing glory to the school and their family and wished them good luck for their brilliant future.
