Chandigarh, January 21, 2014: Philips India, a leading Health and Well-being company, today announced the launch of pain management as a new category in its Consumer Lifestyle division. Expanding its portfolio and focusing on the aspect of an active life with less aches and pains, Philips today introduced two new products ranges for effective pain relief for muscle and joint aches -  InfraPhil and InfraCare.

“The introduction of Pain Management as a new category is a reaffirmation of our commitment to offer products that will help consumers lead a healthy and active lifestyle. As a Health and Well-being company, we aim to provide the best technology and most innovative solutions to our consumers who are now more informed, aware and ready to adopt active lifestyle solutions.” said Mr. ADA Ratnam, President of Philips India's Consumer Lifestyle division.

Prevalence of chronic pain in India is estimated to be approximately 30% and there is also an increasing number of musculoskeletal cases which are a result of unhealthy lifestyle, stress, poor posture, physical exertion, ageing and degenerative osteoarthritis. The 150 watt InfraPhil and 200 watt & 650 watt InfraCare, introduced by Philips, are revolutionary products that will help patients relieve the aches and pains caused due to these problems by providing deep and focused warmth. With these products, patients can reduce the side effects resulting from the consumption of pain killers as well.

Dr. Jagmohan Singh, veteran physiotherapist, and Principal of Gian Sagar College of Physiotherapy (Patiala) said, "The infrared light from Philips InfraPhil and InfraCare provides clinically proven and effective pain relief for muscles and joints. Designed for in-home & office usage, this innovative infrared technology is more effective and safer than other pain relief solutions like painkillers, balms, sprays etc. Infrared light delivers powerful therapeutic benefits to the problem area and speeds up the healing process to ease pain and muscular spasm."

Infrared light has been proven to effectively relieve aches and pains caused by muscular pains and stiff joints. The comfortable warmth created by infrared light penetrates deep into the skin, stimulates blood circulation and warms the muscles. As the muscles are soothed, they automatically loosen up and relax. Because it makes the tissue more pliable, warmth also reduces stiffness and makes joints more flexible.

Starting with Chandigarh, Philips India plans to launch the new Pain Management solutions in more than 12 cities over the next few months. These products will be distributed through traditional retail outlets, online retails channels like Flipkart, and will also be made available at pharmacies.//Chandigarh news online,  Chandigarh news in English, Chandigarh news,  Chandigarh current news,  Chandigarh news live, Chandigarh breaking news, Chandigarh headlines, Chandigarh latest news, world news,
