Physics Association of Department of Physics, Panjab University, Chandigarh organized National Science Day on 28-29 February 2024.
Chandigarh, February 28, 2024: To Begin with the day,the Science Day celebration unfolded with the ceremonial lamp lighting, symbolizing the illumination of knowledge. The event commenced with a warm welcome to distinguished speakers who graced the occasion. Notably, the President of Physics Association Dr. Manish Dev Sharma delved into the connection between Sir C.V. Raman and Science Day, underlining the scientific legacy that continues to inspire.
Then the Keynote speaker, city’s renowned cardiologist Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Vijayvergiya, Professor in the Department of Cardiology, PGIMER, Chandigarh delivered an inaugural talk on Recent advances in Cardiovascular Sciences, shedding light on breakthroughs in heart’s health and strategies for prevention of acute heart attack. The doctor stressed the pivotal role of a balanced diet, regular exercise, and stress management in maintaining a healthy heart.
The audience actively participated with over more than 20 queries in the Q&A session, seeking clarification on specific risk factors, treatment modalities, and personalized care plans. The doctor's responses provided valuable insights, bridging the gap between medical expertise and public understanding.
Proceeding to the final talk Prof. Manmohan Gupta Prof. Emeritus, Department of Physics, Panjab University, Chandigarh delivered a talk on Demystifying Nobel Prize in Physics: A Personal Perspective.
Moving on to the end of the Program an Electronics Workshop was organized in the premises of the department moderated by Dr. Manish Dev Sharma, Er. Sandeep Sharma, Er. Hamesh Lal. The students gained hands on experience and practical insights empowering participants with essential skills for circuit designs and troubleshooting.
