Ferozepur, July 15, 2013: Under the campaign of Green Mission of Punjab Government to keep the Punjab greener, the Youth Fist Welfare Society today organised the shadow tree plantation at the local bus stand under the leadership of its president Gaurav Chopra, Devinder Nath, General Secretary, Lovkesh Cashier and A. C. Chawla, Chief Advisor.
Manjeet Singh Narang, Deputy Commissioner, Ferozeur and Dr. Sanjeev Tiwari, District Forest Officer were special invitee on this occasion.
Narang appreciated the initiative taken by the YFW Society and said, trees have important contribution in our life as they provide oxygen necessary to us. He further said, “With the cutting of trees recklessly, the area under tree has been reduced to greater extent which results in creating a danger all the time for natural disasters.  It is thus necessary that every man apart from planting of maximum trees, they should also take care of their growth regularly”.
He further said, “If the present pace of cutting of trees continued then we have to be accountable to the coming generation because with the shortage of trees, there will be unevenness in the atmosphere apart from imbalance in the environment. Thus, we all have to take steps to stop this inequality”.
On this occasion, the representatives of the society assured the Deputy Commissioner to continue this campaign for whole of the month.  The Special Invitees were also honoured by the YFW Society.
