PM inaugurate foundation stone of PGI Satellite Centre in Ferozepur
The foundation stone of the much awaited PGI Satellite Centre was finally laid down by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi today during a virtual ceremony in the presence of Dr Mansukh Mandaviya Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, besides Prof S P Baghel and Dr Bharti Praveen Pawar, Union Ministers of State for Health and Family Welfare.
Ferozepur, February 25, 2024: The foundation stone of the much awaited PGI Satellite Centre was finally laid down by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi today during a virtual ceremony in the presence of Dr Mansukh Mandaviya Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, besides Prof S P Baghel and Dr Bharti Praveen Pawar, Union Ministers of State for Health and Family Welfare.
On the occasion, Senior BJP Leader Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi Former Minister, K Balaji Subramanium Under Secretary Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Dr Naresh Panda Dean PGIMER Chandigarh, Priyank Bharti Secretary Medical Education besides senior officials from central and state government, senior doctors from PGIMER Chandigarh, district administration and heads of various departments were present during the ceremony.
Dr Sameer Aggarwal, Nodal officer from PGIMER Chandigarh said that this much awaited project aimed to give fillip to the specialised healthcare needs of the border region will be completed by the end of 2026. “Spread in an area of 27.28 acres, the Satellite Centre will have a 100 bedded hospital with state of the art medical facilities including Emergency Services, Critical Care Centres, Operation Theatres, on which an estimated cost of Rs 500 Crores will be incurred” said Dr Sameer, adding that it was be a platinum rated building for which all necessary clearances have been taken.
